Wobbling Car Tyre
If you notice your car tyre wobbling, it shouldn't be taken lightly. At a basic level, it could cause discomfort to your driving experience. Although this is a risk that can prove to be dangerous if not dealt with immediately.
There are several reasons for tyre wobble. Here are some of the most common ones.
If you have ended up mounting a curb or striking one unusually hard, it could have damaged your wheel or suspension. Leading to car wobble being felt through your steering wheel.
- If you're struggling to keep your car on a straight course, you probably have wheel misalignment issues. The most common way to detect this is by watching your steering wheel. If it seems to automatically sway slightly to the left or right, it needs to be checked.
- Car wobble with metallic noises such as knocking is a sign of damaged suspension. Irregular pressure in the tyres for a prolonged period, or excessive weight on the car can cause your suspension to be damaged and cause such tyre wobble.
- Over time, the weight of your car can also end up causing flat spots on your tyres. These spots with time become rigid and turn into irregular bumps that have unusual vibrations and car wobbles. This is common with older tyres and is a sign that a replacement is needed.
- The most common one however is improper wear. Improper tyre pressure, unattended worn-out brake pads or disks and driving in unfavourable conditions tend to cause tyres to wear out in irregular ways and much sooner than expected. This causes them to become asymmetrical and wobble more often.
The best way to avoid wobbling tyres is to have them frequently inspected for any condition issues, alignment issues and irregular wear and tear. So your drive remains smooth and wobble-free.
